Topic:     Interstate 65 in Southern Indiana is Taking Shape

The transformation of Interstate 65 in Southern Indiana is taking shape. Much of Revive 65, the $250 million highway improvement, will be completed by the end of 2003 with full completion of the 10-mile stretch scheduled to conclude in 2004.

The investment by the Indiana Department of Transportation will increase safety and improve traffic flow along the interstate in Clark County.

Work on the Revive 65 corridor is now focusing on expansion of southbound lanes and completion of restructured interchanges between Stansifer Avenue and I-265.  To keep two lanes of traffic flowing in each direction, interstate traffic has been shifted primarily onto newly expanded northbound lanes.

The new eight-lane section of I-65 along with a frontage road system is scheduled for completion by the end of 2003. The segment will run from Stansifer Avenue to just south of I-265.

For more information, including real-time traffic cameras, construction updates, timelines and maps, visit the Revive 65 Web site at www.revive65.com.
